Senior Thesis: Healing Architecture

We are different people in different spaces. The philosopher Nietche believes life if full of suffering and he explores how individuals cope in this suffering world. Architecture contains a spirit and it invites us to feel and react. As humans, we must allow architecture to evoke feelings of happiness. We need to embrace our sensitivity to architecture and allow healing to take place on an emotional level. Nature in itself has a healing quality. The relationship between the spirit of architecture and nature has a powerful affect on a person. After exploring this relationship, I will create spaces that bring happiness to the human spirit using the stages of grief as a guide. The Happiness of Architecture.
